Skateboard Art for Charity: Jimi Hendrix

Skateboard art for the charity event 5050 for Austen.

I designed this psychedelic Jimi Hendrix skateboard art for a really cool fundraiser coming up for the Austen Everett Foundation.

I wanted to do something retro, wild (I mean, it IS a skateboard) and inspired by PNW music. Jimi fit the bill.

This was pretty experimental and I just let myself have fun with it. I've always loved the rock n' roll poster art of the 60s and 70s and this was most certainly inspired by them. I'd have to say this is also in part inspired by one of my favorite artists, Peter Max. I enjoyed this piece so much that you might see more skateboard art and/or more of this style painting from me in the near future.

About 50 50 for Austen:

On July 29th 5:30-8:30pm at Lagunitas TapRoom & Beer Sanctuary in Ballard 50 skateboards made into art pieces by 50 Seattle artists will be auctioned off to benefit The Austen Everett Foundation. The event is brought to you by Bruno B Art Collectif and the skate decks were donated by All Together Skatepark.
