As a child of the 1970s & 80s, I grew up with J.P. Patches and Gertrude. The J.P. Patches Show is still loved by thousands of us who grew up with J.P. (Chris Wedes) and Gertrude (Bob Newman). I wanted to pay a tribute to J.P. Patches with this acrylic painting.
As I painted this, I watched old episodes of The J.P. Patches Show on YouTube. I had forgotten how much I loved the show. As soon as it began I was immediately transported back to my childhood. I immensely enjoyed this painting and I anticipate there will be more J.P. themed paintings in the future.
The original painting was done on a 16x20 canvas. It has sold.
