New painting, a commissioned piece, titled, “Dean & Holly’s Pike Place.”
This painting was done in acrylics on a 16x40” gallery wrapped canvas, sealed with satin Liquitex varnish.
Client’s anniversary is 6/17 so I set the clock to 6:17. Also personalized signage inside market with family member's names.
This was a challenge for me as I do more portrait work than anything, but I absolutely had fun with it and tried to make it a cheery, happy Seattle painting, instead of a glum, gray, wet one. It IS JULY right now and temperatures have been soaring into the upper 80s/low 90s for a week.
There is no place more beautiful than Seattle in the summer; but let's just tell everyone it rains. Deal? :)
