"Tuba Man" Painting

It was nearly ten years ago that Edward Scott McMichael was beaten so badly he died from his injuries. In Seattle he was known as the "Tuba Man". He played his tuba outside Seattle sports venues and was instantly recognizable. (But you heard him before you saw him.)

Ed's death was entirely senseless and it seems justice failed him.

I decided to paint him today and pay tribute to the man so many of us had the pleasure of interacting with. He is very missed in Seattle.

Painting is titled:

"Tuba Man at the Pearly Gates, Seattle Entrance."

Acrylic on 24x36" studio canvas.
